About Me
All about getting those creative juices flowing.
Photography is an art.
It allows us to communicate uniquely with everyone.
Emily Howden got her start in photography in her early teens when she started using her dad’s Olympus DSLR to take photographs of her family’s outings. Her love of photography grew throughout her high school years and she quickly decided that photography would be her career of choice. Studying the arts and photography at Utah Valley University, she found her passion for conceptual photography and the new world it opened her mind to. Even though she has great skill when it comes to capturing the beauty of a landscape or uniqueness of a piece of architecture, conceptual is where her love still remains.
After graduating from UVU with a BFA, she went out into the field to work as the head photographer for two different companies. While Emily enjoyed working in the commercial and advertising photography fields, the work she did as a freelance photographer grew to be the most important to her. It allowed her to express herself when words would fall short and create photographs that were more than just a picture; they had a story and a purpose.
Currently, Emily is a freelance photographer that continues to create work to connect with others and shares her love of photography with the students she teaches at a local high school. Her motto for her students is “You will see the world in a whole new way when you look through a camera lens.”
